About the project

A PLANTING-LED GARDEN DESIGNED FOR IMMERSIVE OUTDOOR LIVING

This garden was designed as a layered, immersive space that feels enclosed, calming, and rich with planting. Set within a compact footprint, the design focuses on creating a sense of retreat through carefully balanced structure and generous greenery.

Strong architectural elements including stone walls, timber detailing, and pergola structures provide definition and rhythm, while abundant planting softens the space and brings movement throughout the seasons. Climbing plants, shrubs, and perennials are layered to create depth, privacy, and a feeling of being surrounded by nature.

Seating and dining areas are woven seamlessly into the layout, offering places to pause, gather, and enjoy the garden at different times of day. Changes in level and framed views help guide the eye through the space, making the garden feel both intimate and expansive.

Designed as a visual garden package, the scheme provides a clear framework that can be implemented in stages. The result is a garden that feels thoughtful and cohesive, a space that evolves beautifully over time and invites everyday use.

“Carly created a garden design that feels considered and well balanced. The planting has been thoughtfully planned and the overall layout works beautifully for how we use the space. We’re really pleased with it’’
