The Meadow Edge Garden

About the project

Blurring boundaries from the house to the meadow beyond

This front garden was designed to blur the boundary between the planted space and the surrounding meadow. The layout feels calm and open, with soft perennials and grasses that move naturally in the wind. Warm tones and textured foliage create a link between the garden and the wider landscape, allowing the planting to sit comfortably in its setting.

A winding path leads through the garden, creating a gentle journey towards the front door. Along the way, a hidden seating area offers a quiet spot to enjoy breakfast outdoors on summer mornings. Together they bring movement and purpose to the space, encouraging time spent within the planting rather than just passing by it.

Visitors often comment on the journey through the garden, the shifting views and the sense of calm it creates as they approach the house.

“We’re thrilled with our front garden. The planting is stunning and changes beautifully with the seasons”
